Where are your bars set, high or low?

I have been reading Manifesting Change by Mike Dooley and have had such gratitude for the simple way he writes .  He takes what I used to see as very confusing, out of this world, metaphysical stuff and makes it really useful in my life.

Kirsten RinnI used to think that driving a Mercedes would make me look materialistic.  I thought that in some way it was bad or something.  It was not in alignment to what I thought about my reality back then.  I wanted to save the world and be helpful and useful to others.  I wanted a family and I wanted to be happy.  I have always wanted a Mercedes.  To this day I still want a Mercedes, an antique convertible SL  to be exact and a Mercedes Station Wagon is even sweet but what ever right?

It is okay to want nice things, I get that today.  Things don’t make us who we are.  The inner us is what counts.  Ultimately I want pure happiness to engulf my life.  I want amazing relationships, abundance and wealth, kids that respect and honor me and others, a beautiful home that is functional and inspiring (and on the beach!) and you know what?  This is my end result that I live in now.  I may not have the beach home yet, but I know it is coming.  I have raised my bars and have higher views about what I want my reality to be today.

 The perspective we have about our life now will reflect what are bars are set.  We might not realize what they are set at until we look at a few different scenarios.  In the book Manifesting Change, by Mike Dooley, he  gives some great examples of scenarios or exercises as he calls them.  One went something like this:  visualize you are on a long plane trip to a far off exotic locale.  Take a minute and visualize it.  See yourself on the plane and feel what it would feel like.  Then he goes on to ask, how did you see yourself on the plane?  Were you in coach, business class or first class? You can take it further and ask yourself who you were with, were you alone? Were you happy? The point is try to notice where your bars are set and then if they do not serve where you want to go and be, f they do not help you get closer to your goal or dream, then change them.  Just raise your bars.

Kirsten RinnWhen I finally realized that my life was simply my perspective of it, (it is all illusion really anyway) then I started to see I should only be concerned with what I want in my life.  I should not waste my energy trying to please others as I did for way to long. I should not be concerned with what others think about me or what opinions they have about anything really.  I should decide what I want and then move toward that.

In Mike Dooley’s book Manifesting Change, there is a section about feelings and emotions that really helped me understand how powerful we can be in creating what we want in our life.  He says to dwell from the place of your happiness, predicate your perspectives on that, choose your thoughts and words on that place, model your behavior from that place.

Be there. Go there now and never leave. Imagine that your dreams have already come true. Live your life from that mind-set. Predicate your behavior on that reality, not the illusions that now surround you. Filter every thought, question, and answer from there. Let your focus shift and be born again – because dwelling from, not upon, the space you wish to inherit is the fastest way to change absolutely everything”

So as I learn to practice not to condition my behavior on the illusions of time, space and matter, at least not exclusively, because that simply perpetuates the conditions you’re living in.

Don’t use logic and your physical senses to make all of your decisions. In spite of the illusions that may surround you – think from your end result and what would serve you in that reality!  This,  says Mike Dooley is pure power!

BE, Do, Have…

The BE, DO, HAVE Principle
This was a pretty foriegn concept to me most of my life. I was always getting ready to be ready to live the life I wanted and be the person I wanted to be. My mentor would say if you are not getting the results you want “look at who you are being“. Who are you being? I would ask myself that question and just be perplexed at the answer. The Be Do Have principle is pretty simple once you truly understand how powerful it really is. I always seemed to wonder why I was wanting something and was not creating or having the life I wanted. Once I really understood that I controlled who I was being and used this principle, my life really started to transform! Do you understand the power of Be, Do, Have?

It comes back to the principle of Being the person you want to be and then you Do what that person would do, to Have what they would have. So how do you start to do this? It starts with your thoughts. Your thoughts are constantly creating your beliefs. EVery action starts with a thought. When you think you can or can’t do something, you affirm it in your action. The “doing” is the action based your beliefs about yourself. Then, of course, we manifest or “have” what we think we can have.
Get this, being is the acting “as if” or behaving in a way that resonates with our future self. Whether that future self is one month from now, one year or five years. We’re behaving as if we’ve already achieved the goal of our future self. We are grateful for everything that is right now.

Then here’s the important part. A small space of time of choosing to “be that person” and actually taking the action of doing as that person. You see, the only way to get to that future self is by moving with action.
So, you’re always faced with choice, Am I being the person I said I’m being? Or “Who am I Being right now?”
It happens in that small space of time when what we say we want and then faced with the choice of moving toward it or ignoring what we just said we wanted, is moving us toward our goal or away from it.
When we move toward our goals, even by the smallest of steps, we are moving closer to who we say we desire to be than we were a moment ago.

If I decide I’m going to be artist. I start thinking and moving through life as a great artist. The actions I take are based on what I think about being a great artist.
Do I believe it? Can I see myself living this way? Do I feel good when creating art?
I practice and practice. I put my art out there to be seen. I start to have results through my being and doing. People start asking to me about my art and ask me to do shows. Private collectors call for showings and they purchase my art. Magazine articles are written about my work and I am more and more recognized as a great artist. I put out the vibration that I am a great artist and move that way in my life….Be Do Have!

One of my most favorite and powerful affirmations I use and love is “You must be the change you want to see in others.”-Gandhi

Children understand about Being when they are actively using their imaginations or role playing. Remember deciding to be a pirate, princess or cowboy? While imagining, this is who they are Being, a pirate, princess and a cowboy and nobody can tell them any differently! Be childlike and just BE!

Manifestation starts with your thoughts.
Begin by asking. Ask for what you want. Be crystal clear about what you desire and as detailed as possible.
Believe that you can have it. Do you believe? If there is even the smallest internal voice that doubts and says, “No, you can’t really have that” then you will actually repell that which you desire.
You must believe with all of your heart that you can have it. If you answered no, there is work to be done on your end.
Receive it. Be open to receiving or allowing. Your desires are seeking you, just as you are seeking them, that is why you have the desire in the first place. Put yourself in receiving mode and allow it to come into your life.

You want to put yourself in alignment with your goals. You can do that by visualizing. Visualization allows you to connect with your future goals through emotion or a mental mind movie that you create in your mind and visualize it over and over again so that finaly you experience it.

So, what can you do to manifest a desire quickly?
* Create a vision board. A vision board is a a board full of pictures of all your desires. It allows you to have a visual reminder of what you are manifesting. You can make a mind movie and watch it a few times per day. Actively visualizing your goals already achieved, you are already the person you want to be, a few times per day.
* Have your goals written down in pen on paper. Goal setting is another tool in manifesting. If you don’t know where you are going, how do you expect to get there? Goals are the blueprint for manifesting.
* Manifesting with powerful intentions. Your thoughts create your words which create your feelings and dictate your actions. You are therefore constantly creating so you mind as well create what it is that you really want! Manifest through your intentions.
* Be Do Have principle. You can manifest a desire by who you are being. It is important to understand that you must BE the person first.
If you want to manifest a successful business, as a seven figure earner as an entrepreneur, you must first be the person that has a successful enterprise and earns a seven figure income. How would they move through day, their life? Would thehe attend social events or would he stay home? Would he join a club? Would he have friends over to dinner? Would they join a millionaire mastermind group? What would this kind of income make your life look like and feel like? How would you dress? Where would you live? What kind of car would you drive? What charities would you support? How would you treat yourself and others? How much of your time would be devoted to your family, to your business? How would you feel with this kind of life? Hold that feeling each time you are doing your visualizations.
BE that person! DO as they would do and you will HAVE what they have.

My Own Thinking Kept me from setting Big Goals

As I have grown in my journey I have come to the realize that my thinking had allowed me to be satisfied with my lot in life so to say. I never set any real big concrete goals. Of course I wanted more in my life but my thinking and belief system did not allow me to take it past a day dream.

As I look back I can see that in order to go further with any endeavor, we must grow as a person. In order to go further in my life, I needed to expand my thinking. I was, infact, the one holding me back – it was my own thinking. Once I acknowledged this as a possibility my thinking had already started to change. I was on my way to changing the thoughts that I gave attention to. I knew that my mindset was responsible for the way I had been accepting that all I had was all I would ever have – 95% of the game is my mindset.

I have learned so much about the power of goal setting. Many know that it is one of the most common characteristics of successful individuals. Read the biographies of some of history’s most successful men and you will find that they had concrete dreams, visions or goals of what they wished to achieve. All top achievers have three common threads:

Desire – Belief – Expectancy
When you set a goal you need to adopt these three qualities to help manifest the end result.

Desire
First, you must have a burning desire to achieve the goal.

Belief
Second, you must have a strong belief that the goal is possible and within reach.

Expectancy
Third, you must be in the state of expectancy – you must be expecting to see results.

Not sure that you believe that your mind is this powerful? Not sure that you can manifest your own reality? Do your own investigating and learn more about the evidence in the scientific community. Learn more about the law of attraction – it is not just the positive that we can attract into our lives by out thoughts. The law of attraction does not care if something is negative or if it is positive.

So get started

1. Define Clear, Concrete Goals.
2. Think Big
We create our own limitations. Most of us are guilty of aiming too low rather than aiming too high.

When you’re setting a goal, keep this in mind
“A good goal should scare you a little and excite you a lot.”
Think of your current goals and test them against this rule. If your goals do not both scare and excite you – try targeting something a little more challenging.

The mind is the limit. As long as the mind can envision the fact that you can do something, you can do it – as long as you really believe it 100 percent.

3. Be Persistant – no matter what
It was very easy for me to allow other people’s opinions and ideas to influence me. Do not allow other people’s negative ideas to influence you.

4. Continue with Desire – Belief – Expectancy
Your goals must meet the criteria of Desire, Belief and Expectancy.

The goal must be something you strongly desire and it helps if it is heart centered and rooted in service to others. The greater your desire the stronger your will to pursue the goal. Napoleon Hill said “If your desires are strong enough you will appear to possess super-human powers to achieve.”

Next, the goal must be something you believe is in the realm of the possible. This depends on your belief system. As you accomplish more in life your self-belief grows. This increases your confidence and fuels you to accomplish even bigger things. Until then you can try affirmations to increase your belief system and use words such as “I am in the process of….” or “it is like me to…..”.

Finally, you must expect the end result to occur. Think from the end, as if your desire has already happened. Who are you being? The person that has the desired result is the person who you want to be with regard to your thoughts and what you give your attention to.

Expectancy is harder to create. But the tool of creative visualization helps tremendously. Your subconscious mind cannot distinguish between a real experience and an imagined experience. By frequently visualizing the end result you desire you cause your subconscious to accept it to be real. This causes the mind to draw that situation into your life.

“How do I stop my negative thoughts?” – If you have ever asked this question then you will feel such enormous relief in knowing the answer, because it is so simple. How do you stop negative thoughts? You plant good thoughts!

When you try to stop negative thoughts, you are focusing on what you don’t want – negative thoughts – and you will attract an abundance of them. They can never disappear if you are focused on them. Compliment, praise, and give thanks to all things. Every time you say “Thank you” it is a good thought! As you plant more and more good thoughts, the negative thoughts will be wiped out. Why? Because your focus is on good thoughts, and what you focus on you attract.

So don’t give any attention to negative thoughts. Don’t worry about them. If any come, make light of them, shrug them off, and let them be your reminder to deliberately think more good thoughts now.

The more good thoughts you can plant in a day, the faster your life will be utterly transformed into all good. If you spend only one day speaking of good things and saying “Thank you” at every single opportunity, you will not believe your tomorrow. Deliberately thinking good thoughts is exactly like planting seeds. As you think good thoughts you are planting good seeds inside you, and the Universe will transform those seeds into a garden of paradise. How will the garden of paradise appear? As your life!
